Supervisory Skills Development Webinars 2025 
Presented by Lynda Parry and Nicola Kenney

This series of 4 webinars is an ISST requirement to become a certified  Schema Therapy Supervisor.  In order to be eligible to register you need to have:  
  • completed at least 2 years of schema therapy clinical work after the date of achieving Advanced Certification.
  • provided schema therapy to at least four clients for six months or more duration (at least 20 sessions each); of these, two must have a diagnosis of a personality disorder (or severe personality disorder traits).

October 8th 2.30pm-5.30pm AEST Webinar 1 
Introduction to Schema Therapy supervision
·  Establishing an attuned and safe space for supervisees
·  Personal and professional growth in the supervisee
·  3 roles of the Schema Therapy Supervisor – Teacher, Mentor & Therapist
October 22nd 2.30pm-5.30pm AEST Webinar 2 Case Conceptualisation and supervisee challenges
·  Supervisor as therapist and limited reparenting agent
·  Training supervisees to use the case conceptualisation documents
·  Assisting supervisees to grow in their Limited Re-parenting role

November 5th 2.30pm- 5.30pm AEST Webinar 3 Schema Therapy Competency Scale and supervisee challenges
·  Obstacles for supervisees working with Narcissistic clients
·  Working with supervisees who have an Unrelenting Standards schema
·  Assessing each element of the STCS

November 19th 2.30pm-5.30pm AEST Webinar 4 Impediments to supervision and further skills with supervisee challenges
·  Working with a defensive supervisee, including empathic confrontation and identifying modes and schemas in supervisees
·  Impediments to continuing supervision and options
·  Working with avoidant supervisees
·  Assisting supervisees with their own activation with difficult clients

Interstate Schema Therapy Workshops


​Dr Rita Younan is a Clinical Psychologist and certified Schema Therapist Supervisor-Trainer at the Schema Therapy Institute Australia.  Dr Younan was the Director of the Schema Therapy Department at The Victoria Clinic. In collaboration with Professor Joan Farrell &  Ms Ida Shaw, Dr Younan developed the inpatient and outpatient Group Schema Therapy Program offered at the Clinic.

Lynda Parry is a Clinical Psychologist who has been in private practice for 33 years. Originally an early childhood educator she has a passion for developmental psychology which led to 4 years post graduate study and accreditation in contemporary psychotherapy. She presented her  final paper on Dream Analysis at the International Psychotherapy Conference in 2010. She is trained in psychodrama and worked at The Psychodrama Centre, Sydney for 10 years. The experience of running psychodrama groups and training in CBT has stood her in good stead for embracing Schema Therapy. She is the director of the Schema Therapy Centre of NSW, a member of the ISST Ethics Committee and ISST co-regional training co-ordinator along with Rita Younan for Australia. Her article Schema Therapy and Dreams: Accessing The Vulnerable Child was published in the ISST Bulletin, December, 2018. As well providing training in the ST model she runs workshops on ST with Dreams and Nightmares.

STAA Cancellation Policy: If we receive a cancellation more than eight weeks before the scheduled workshop, a $50 administration charge will be incurred.  Cancellation four to eight weeks before the workshop will incur a charge of 50% of the workshop fee. If less than four weeks’ notice is given, the individual or funding organisation will be liable for the full fee. For exceptions to this policy, please email us directly.
