Certification Workshop 1: Foundations of Schema Therapy
This 2-day workshop is the first of a series of three that comprise our certification curriculum. “Workshop 1: Foundations of Schema Therapy” will cover schema theory and the conceptual model, assessment and education, introduction to associated therapeutic techniques and utilising the therapeutic relationship for change. It is suitable for therapists who are interested in gaining a basic understanding of Schema Therapy, as well as those who are interested in working towards becoming certified in Individual or Child-Adolescent Schema Therapy.

We work as a team, providing the opportunity for attendees to learn didactically and experientially from all three trainers, who have different styles and varying areas of practice. We will demonstrate how we each may implement the same technique in a different manner, in the spirit of being genuine and true to one's own therapeutic style. Certification Workshop 2: Schema Therapy Mode Work
This is the second 2-day workshop in the series of three that comprise our certification curriculum. “Workshop 2: Schema Therapy Mode Work ”will cover experiential techniques for imagery, mode dialogues and role-plays. Cognitive techniques specifically designed for schema modes and mode dialogues will be included, in addition to homework assignments and behavioural pattern breaking/change strategies. It is suitable for therapists who have attended a preliminary workshop previously, as well as those who are interested in working towards becoming certified in Individual or Child-Adolescent Schema Therapy.

Schema Therapy for Couples
Day 1 will include an introduction to Schema Therapy, assessment with genograms, working hot with emotional focus, inter-relationship of schemas and modes, mode mapping and mode cycle clash cards. Day 2 will include interventions, dealing with affairs, distinguishing needs and wants, building healthy adult and emotional learning for couples.

Certification Workshop 3: Advanced Techniques for Difficult to Treat Populations
This is the final 2-day workshop in the series that comprise our certification curriculum. “Workshop 3: Advanced Techniques for Difficult to Treat Populations” will build upon techniques covered in the first two workshops with specific relation to schema mode work with personality disordered clients and those with axis 1 diagnoses such as an eating disorder and PTSD. It is suitable for therapists who have previously attended a workshop that covers some aspects of the schema mode model, as well as those who are interested in working towards becoming certified in Individual Schema Therapy.

Overcoming Therapeutic Impasses in the Client or Therapist using Schema Therapy Interventions
This 2-day Master Class with the legendary Joan Farrell. PhD, is suitable for Schema Therapists at all levels and clinicians who have some knowledge and experience in using the basic schema therapy model, and want to learn more about core schema therapy interventions. Day 1 will specifically focus on impasses with clients and day 2 on impasses with therapists. Participants will learn ways to identify what the impasses are and help clients work though them. Interventions will include experiential work to connect and get through the resistance of dysfunctional coping styles, imagery rescripting and storytelling to introduce the Vulnerable Child Mode and mode role plays (aka schema mode chair work). For impasses with therapists, exercises will used from Joan and Ida's latest book: Learning Schema Therapy from the Inside Out: A Self-practice/Self-reflection Workbook for therapists (Guilford, Fall 2016).
Joan is a member of our International Faculty and will be travelling from her home in the US to run this workshop for us. She is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, advanced certified Schema Therapist Supervisor-Trainer in Individual and Group and the ISST Executive Board representative for Training & Certification. Child and Adolescent Schema Therapy: Hand Puppets, Imagery, and Mode Dialogues!Child and Adolescent Schema Therapy (ST-CA) is an innovative and integrative therapy for children and adolescents that significantly expands on traditional approaches. Cancellation Policy: If we receive a cancellation more than eight weeks before the scheduled workshop, a $50 administration charge will be incurred. Cancellation four to eight weeks before the workshop will incur a charge of 50% of the workshop fee.
